For GB’s sledge hockey team a place at the Games would be an achievement in itself.

Pompeii and Green garden

Pompeii, Bastille
4/5

London indie-rock band Bastille have not been on the scene for long but they are causing a stir and new single Pompeii proves why. Pompeii is their third official single from their forthcoming debut album Bad Blood released this March.
A blend of staccato keyboard synths, slick drum rolls and harmonised backing chants gather energy and there’s no denying the catchiness of the track.

More than 200 women staged a flash mob outside Cardiff Central Library yesterday afternoon. They were part of a global effort to attract one billion people to rise on behalf of the billion women on earth who will be raped or beaten in their lifetime. The concept is simple: go out and dance.

People all across the world came together to reclaim Valentines day in an attempt to bring an end to violence against women and Cardiff was no exception.
One Billion Rising is part of the V-Day campaign, the creation of Eve Ensler, author of The Vagina Monologues.

Tress's West Wales landscapes refuse to be quaint.

PEMBROKESHIRE based artist, David Tress, has featured the West Wales landscape in his latest work, currently in exhibiton at Albany Gallery.

The London-born artist moved to Wales in his early twenties and was inspired to reject modernism but influence his landscapes with his early abstract art.

In the early days, Tress painted highly-detailed and realistic landscapes. Light was always central. One of his famous earlier works, Winter Sun, places a darkening sky behind brightly illuminated stone walls of a cottage. It could be a photograph.

Stella McCartney Olympic clothing greeted with mixed response

The new Olympics kit for Team GB 2012 was revealed last night – with a distinct lack of Welsh colours.

The kit, designed by Stella McCartney, was launched yesterday at the Tower of London at an exclusive reveal to the media.

The comedian faces a gruelling challenge of running, rowing and cycling from Paris to London for Sport Relief

The programme was broadcast at 9pm on BBC 1 last night.

It is hard to dislike a man who runs, rows and cycles nearly 300 miles for a charitable cause, unless of course that man is John Bishop.

Britain's least funny and smuggest comedian takes on the admirable task of getting from Paris to London entirely under his own steam in order to raise money for Sport Relief. But the question is why the rest of us had to endure the equally hellish feat of watching sixty minutes of him and his fellow celebrity pals trying to act wacky?

Folk group's first album offers little variety.

Dry the River

Shallow Bed

**

Shallow Bed is the first studio album from folk rock band, Dry The River.

As a whole the album fits together well, with a melodic sound and poetic lyrics it is a brave start for this young band.

The London-based five-piece band have successfully created a release which combines rich instrumentals, solid lyrics and smooth vocals.
