Does it always happen at 2.00am on a Saturday night when you want a bottle of wine and all the shops are closed? If you knew you could get alcohol delivered, would you do it?

Well the truth is you can, and in Cardiff alone there are four different outlets with the sole aim to provide late night drinkers with their fix in times of need. But just how good of an idea is it?

The Penylan Care home in Oldwell Court provides an important service for those who live with dementia

Care for the elderly has become a real concern. On Tuesday March 6 charities, care homes and housing providers called on the government to reform social care. They wrote in a letter to the Secretary of State for Health Andrew Lansley how: “Years of underfunding, combined with rising demand have resulted in a social care system that is in crisis: an unfair and confusing postcode lottery which is now facing additional cuts.”

Anne Moore reviews Muscleat Sherman Cymru.

Men watching the rugby, fighting, swearing. Men arguing with each other, having sex, working, driving. Produced by Shock 'n' Awe Performance Company, Muscle is an energetic mix of theatre and dance which places the energy and frustrations of the male sex under the spotlight.

Beginning with a comic demonstration of stereotypical male behaviour, the production attempted to peel back these perceptions. It juxtaposed physical male strength, from fight scenes and acrobatics, with emotional fragility, exploring deeper issues of childhood, love and parenting.

"When women get together, men get frightened!" hollers Hormonal Housewives but for some, the material may prove equally temperamental.

Billed a “hilarious evening of excessive laughter”, Hormonal Housewivesgraced Cardiff’s New Theatre starring Laura Checkley, Margi Clarke and Julie Coombe and from very early on in the proceedings, it was announced: “When women get together, men get frightened!”

While a truism, in this particular case the motto can be extended to encompass the two terrified twenty-somethings who went along to review it. These ladies did not hold back.

A new system is being put in place in order to boost potential organ donors in Wales.

Today, January 31, marks the last day of the official consultation in Wales over an opt-out system for organ donation. Under such a system, consent to becoming an organ donor would be presumed for everyone living in Wales, unless they had registered as having opted out.

At present there are fewer than 100,000 Welsh people on the organ donation register, in a population of 3 million. From 2010/11 just 66 people who died in Welsh hospitals agreed to donate organs.

As spring creeps in, groups walking Cardiff’s parks are not an odd sight.

But Sunday’s Walk for life, organised by Kidney Wales Foundation, with its bright outfits and turnout of around 250 people, was difficult to miss.

The event, starting at pub, Y Mochyn Du, and ending at Cardiff castle, was organised to raise money and awareness about kidney problems.

This comes at a topical moment. With the Welsh Assembly’s new extended powers, some are questioning if Wales can be more active in supporting those affected by kidney problems.

The rise in duty on alcoholic drinks is all very well and good for reducing the deficit, but what will an extra 10p on every pint mean for the Welsh economy?

With the budget due to be announced tomorrow, yet again the Government is targeting alcohol tax to try and ease the burden on the economy.

Although this paper realises money needs to be found to lower the deficit, the Government must remember people are already struggling to make ends meet due to the recession.

Although it may take more than a 10p increase per pint to discourage some avid pub-goers, it could significantly add to an evening spent in the pub and people may look to other forms of entertainment.

A satire on the world of cosmetic surgery and perceptions of the beautiful body, Prosthetic Soul is a bit like an episode of Holby City with sudden bursts of song.

Prosthetic Soul is a collaboration between Mr and Mrs Clark and Volcano, which they call a medical musical. A little bit like an episode of Holby City with sudden bursts of songs, and lots of teeth and big hair.

But Prosthetic Soul is not a typical sugar-coated, painted smiles show. Instead it is a satire on the world of cosmetic surgery and perceptions of the beautiful body.

Holland House Hotel and Spa is one of many in the city offering spa treatments and facilities. I booked myself in for a massage to see how the four star hotel fared.

Before I had my treatment, I decided to check out the rest of the spa facilities. The leisure receptionist was incredibly helpful and went out of her way to make sure I knew where I was going and whether I had everything I needed.
