There's something quite special about Cardiff's vintage fashion scene. One of The Cardiffian's resident fashion-enthusiasts explains why she loves vintage so. 

I came to vintage relatively late in life. 

Despite a penchant for wearing a pair of my dad’s old khaki trousers, which I used to team with a studded belt to dazzling effect, I didn’t really start rummaging until I moved to Manchester for my  degree.

Harbouring one of Britain’s best and most interesting alternative shopping districts Manchester’s Northern Quarter was both an eye opener and an education. I immediately fell in love with Ryman’s Vintage, Retro Rehab and the many other vintage-themed cafes and restaurants.

Can the Ting Tings follow up the huge success of their debut album We Started Nothing with new album Sounds From Nowhereville?

With songs such as That’s Not My Name and Shut Up and Let Me Go to their name, The long-awaited second album  by the Ting Tings does not quite live up to expectations. 

Despite being released four years after their award-winning debut album We Started Nothing, Sounds from Nowheresville leaves a lot to be desired. Of the ten tracks on the release, there is not one stand-out track comparable to the catchy sounds of the band’s first two singles.

A Cardiff charity shop begun its annual collectible records sale yesterday.

A Cardiff charity shop begun its annual collectible records sale yesterday.

Oxfam books and music in St Mary Street are selling around 250 LPs and a 100 singles, which have been donated to them over the past year.

Shop manager Khantika Chongsathien said: "Last time we made more than £3,000 and we are hoping to raise even more this time."

The most expensive item on sale is a mint condition copy of Nick Drake's Bryter Layter which is priced at £279.99.
