Cardiff Blues scrum-half Richie Rees is set to return for the Magners League clash against the Ospreys tomorrow.

Having missed the entire Six Nations campaign, Richie Rees will make his first start since his 12-week ban started at the beginning of January.

Rees was suspended after being found guilty of foul play, having made contact with the eye area of England international Dylan Hartley during the Northampton Saints Heineken Cup match in December.

The scrum-half's return is a timely boost for the Blues, as both they and the Ospreys have labelled their Magners League clash at the Liberty Stadium as a “must win” game.

While the future of the Ospreys looks increasingly dismal following the departure of two of their star players, the Blues have secured yet another contract.

Welsh winger Tom James has followed in the footsteps of fellow Wales international Sam Warburton and agreed a new contract extension with the Blues on Tuesday.

But as the Blues squad looks increasingly strong for next season, the Ospreys future remains uncertain, having lost two key players in James Hook and Lee Byrne to French regions, and there are rumours of more to follow.

Tonight Wales will have a challenge on their hands. Not least because they kick-off their Six Nations battle against arch-rivals England, but because they will inevitably still be recovering from a rather dismal 2010.

The Autumn Internationals were a series of disappointments for Welsh fans.

Despite a fleeting hope of a win in their second game against South Africa, Wales’s performance took a considerable nosedive in the games to follow - perhaps most embarrassingly of all, only managing to secure a draw against the Fijians.
