A new collection of poems celebrating 50 years of the Beatles was read aloud at Chapter arts centre in Cardiff set to the bands most famous tunes.

Back in an era when popular culture was defining the times Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon and Paul McCartney met in Liverpool and decided to start a band. The rest, so they say, is history.


This year marks the 50th anniversary of Beatlemania, and so 2013 is sure to see the re-emergence of The Beatles in every aspect of popular culture. Perhaps the most interesting result of this celebration is a new anthology of poetic responses to The Beatles and their songs, entitled Newspaper Taxis: Poetry After ­the Beatles.

Walker Stephen Gash still takes to the Welsh hills whenever he can

What would you do if you lost a leg in an accident? Most people would fall into depression at having to spend the rest of their days in a wheelchair.

Not Stephen Raymond Gash, 57, who grew up in Pontypridd. His sunny disposition meant he never let it get him down, and his fierce love for the great outdoors drives him to keep walking.

Born to a coal miner father, in Bishop Middleton, County Durham, Stephen spent his early years wandering the countryside.

Web-giants Google claim 40% of Welsh businesses have "no web presence" and last night's Getting Welsh Business Online discussion was the first step towards addressing this shortcoming.

Cardiff’s Coal Exchange played host to Getting Welsh Business Online last night,  the launch event for Google’s new initiative to encourage more businesses to get online.

What do John Cleese, Orson Welles and Alexander Armstrong all have in common?

The answer is they have all worked with comic actor Tim Brooke Taylor and if the good humoured questions and answers session held in Cardiff's New Theatre is anything to go by, they would all have greatly enjoyed the experience.

A satire on the world of cosmetic surgery and perceptions of the beautiful body, Prosthetic Soul is a bit like an episode of Holby City with sudden bursts of song.

Prosthetic Soul is a collaboration between Mr and Mrs Clark and Volcano, which they call a medical musical. A little bit like an episode of Holby City with sudden bursts of songs, and lots of teeth and big hair.

But Prosthetic Soul is not a typical sugar-coated, painted smiles show. Instead it is a satire on the world of cosmetic surgery and perceptions of the beautiful body.
