The Cardiff Blues welcome two Grand Slam stars back to the starting line-up to face the Llanelli Scarlets tomorrow evening.

Alex Cuthbert, winning try-scorer against France, is back on the wing while Lloyd Williams starts at scrum-half. Unfortunately, the four other Blues representatives in Wales’s Grand Slam winning side will not be running out against the Scarlets with Leigh Halfpenny out with a dead leg, Gethin Jenkins out with a shoulder injury and Jamie Roberts, who has not been picked for the match.

Huw Silk speaks to Haydn James, conductor of the London Welsh choir, before he leads the choir at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

On Saturday, Wales’s rugby players will try to prove they are the dominant force in European rugby.

But, according to one Millennium Stadium stalwart, the Principality already leads the world in one aspect of the game – crowd singing.

Haydn James has conducted the massed choirs on the pitch before kick-off at every home international since Wales played their home games at Wembley in the late 1990s.

The Scottish player is deemed to be tied to Wales after playing an under-20 Six Nations match last year.

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has dismissed a Scottish appeal over the eligibility of Steven Shingler.

Scotland had picked the utility back, who is primarily a centre for his club London Irish, in their preliminary squad for this season’s Six Nations championship in January.

But Shingler has already appeared for Wales’s under-20 side, and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) argued this meant he could not represent the senior side of another nation.

Having already secured the Triple Crown, Wales's attentions will now be focused on securing the Grand Slam. Huw Silk looks back at the previous Welsh sides able to complete an unlikely white-wash.

When video referee Iain Ramage uttered the word "inconclusive" just after 5.30pm on Saturday evening Wales's 20th Triple Crown was sealed and, crucially, the illusive Grand Slam title came one step closer.

England winger David Strettle’s score was disallowed, giving Sam Warburton the first piece of silverware of his short international captaincy. Thrilling wins over Ireland in Dublin, Scotland in Cardiff and the biggest scalp of all, the 19-12 triumph over England at Twickenham, have set Wales up for their third slam in eight years.

Aberavon edge out Cardiff and all the other quarter-final ties

Cardiff RFC produced a late rally but it was not enough to prevent them losing 19-17 to Aberavon in the SWALEC cup quarter-finals.

Visitors Aberavon took the lead when flanker Aaron Bray's interception allowed wing Chris Lewis to touch down under the posts.

With the usually reliable fly-halves, Scott Sneddon for Cardiff and Matt Jarvis for Aberavon, both missing kicks, the Wizards led 5-0 at the interval.

Jarvis extended the lead after the break with a penalty which Sneddon replied to.

Tonight Wales will have a challenge on their hands. Not least because they kick-off their Six Nations battle against arch-rivals England, but because they will inevitably still be recovering from a rather dismal 2010.

The Autumn Internationals were a series of disappointments for Welsh fans.

Despite a fleeting hope of a win in their second game against South Africa, Wales’s performance took a considerable nosedive in the games to follow - perhaps most embarrassingly of all, only managing to secure a draw against the Fijians.
