Ill discipline must be curbed says coach

Welsh Coach Warren Gatland has warned his players against any further ill discipline as he prepares his side to take on Scotland in the Six Nations.

Bradley Davies’s sin binning against Ireland last week was just one of a number of yellow cards which have hindered Wales in recent times and Gatland has had enough.

The New Zealander has admitted his warnings have had no effect on the squad and has threatened his players with financial penalties if it happens again.

Wales enter the final round of fixtures in the 2011 Six Nations with an outside chance of claiming a third title in seven years.

But they must first rely on championship leaders England slipping to defeat in Ireland, who will be looking to bounce back after last Saturday’s controversial defeat in the Millennium Stadium.

If the Red Rose nation do miss out on a Grand Slam, Wales know a substantial victory over a France team in turmoil could be enough to secure the crown.

Discipline will be key as Wales look to end history of home defeats to Ireland

Wales will look to break a dismal home record against Ireland in an attempt to keep their Six Nations title aspirations alive.

With France beaten at Twickenham in the last round of fixtures and England still to travel to Dublin - a trip they have traditionally found difficult - Warren Gatland's men still have an outside chance of snatching the title, but to do so they must end a run which has seen Saturday's visitors lose just once in Cardiff since 1983.

Wales return to form with win against Scotland to kick-start the Six Nations challenge.

Wales secured just their third win in 14 internationals with a 24-6 win against Scotland at Murrayfield this weekend.

The result was the ideal response for Wales following their opening-day defeat to England.

The Three Feathers went into the game as underdogs but were in control from the sixth minute when James Hook marked his return to the fly-half role with a moment of magic.

He sliced through a gaping hole in the Scottish defence to release the prolific Shane Williams who scored his 52nd international try.
