A Freedom of Information Act request has showed a total of 1,390 potholes have been reported across the capital, and will each cost between £25 and £50 to repair.

It will cost up to £69,000 to repair all the potholes across Cardiff, The Cardiffian can reveal.

Councillor Delme Bowen, councillor for traffic and transportation, said he was confident the cost could be met.

The Welsh Assembly Government has announced plans to set up a single National Adoption Agency, which would replace the 22 Local Authorities who deal with adoption in Wales.

The WAG claim the Agency would improve the rate of successful adoption.

Wales’s Environment Agency received 12 calls from concerned Cardiff residents yesterday regarding a suburb stream running white.

Rhiwbina residents noticed the discolouration of the stream and reported it.

Officers from Environment Agency Wales took samples from Whitchurch Brook and investigations traced the discolouration back to two nearby underground drinking water reservoirs.

The agency has today announced that it would like to reassure residents in Rhiwbina that there is nothing to be alarmed about.

The report, carried out by a management and transport consultant, critiqued the council’s handling of the snow in December, and made recommendations for the future.

The report, written by Brian Smith, was published on Friday, and examined both the planning and the recovery period.
